As many of you know we have a weekly discipleship group which meets on a Wednesday evening at my house where we share our questions, and hopefully answers, study the bible, worship, and grow in our faith together. People can dip in and out of the group to suit their lifestyle.
This group is also hosting the Advent Course, Clash of the Kingdoms.
The mid-week group provides a great opportunity to draw closer to each other and to God. However, it is recognised that it isn't the most convenient time for a lot of people, particularly those with babies.
Consequently, a group of new mums are going to start a group to recreate this discipleship model but for those who have babies and small children.
It is to meet at St Mary's church from 12:30 until about 1:15, so that they can stay on for Caterpillar should they wish, and starts on the 22nd November.
Although it is held in St Mary's, it is for all the community and open to those who worship in other churches or don't go to church at all.
We also have a willing volunteer (suitably DBS'd) who will keep an eye on the little ones, to free up parents enabling them to focus more on each other, the word of God, and prayer.
As the focus is on those with babies and tots, it is entitled the New Life fellowship group and recognises the difficulties, and pressures parents of new and recently born children are under.
New Life Fellowship Group will meet initially for four weeks during advent following the Clash of Kingdoms study with a time to review how things are working at the end of the course.
